the white gauze of summer
teases me
flushing out it's hands,
grasping my body.
and a criss cross of lines
on my feet and nose
rise up like blisters,
swelling.
a sweet reminder of the heat
and when my fingers get too thick.
underwater, my body floats,
underwater, i drink until i'm full
on the lawn,
i'm wrapped and swathed
by the sticky sweat
of your body
